Shoot For The Stars Advanced Academy
Quality reps. Consistency. Fundamentals that build real confidence.
Train 2 times per week (8 sessions per month) with your age group in a structured, high-rep environment. We break down fundamentals, teach progressions and game reads, and build players the right way.
We limit each class to 15 players for detailed attention and maximum reps.
At the end of every month, we host our Academy Run live game play to evaluate growth and prepare for the next level.

Lucy just finished her 1st basketball season with Auburn Parks and Recreation.
Team went 7-0 and won the Championship. They didn’t keep score but we did hahaha.
She averaged 3.8 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 3 steals per game to help lead her team all season. I’m proud of her effort, confidence, and how she competed every game.
Her grandparents, Big John and Nancy, were able to see her last game and celebrate that championship moment with her. That made it even more special.
Lucy says she wants to thank her teammates, coaches, and all her fans for the hard work and support haha.

We’re excited to officially welcome Coach Dewayne Welch to our Nike Basketball Camp coaching staff May 26th–29th in Auburn.
Coach Welch currently serves as the Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach at Smiths Station High School, competing in Alabama’s highest classification (7A). He brings over 17 years of high school coaching experience and understands what it takes to develop players, build discipline, and prepare athletes to compete at a high level.
Coach Welch was also a standout high school basketball player at Beauregard High School, which makes this even more special for our local community. He knows the tradition, the work ethic, and what it means to represent this area the right way.
He brings leadership, experience, and a strong focus on fundamentals and player development. Adding coaches like this continues to raise the level of our camp and the experience our kids will receive.

Shoot For The Stars Advanced Academy
We kicked off two weeks ago and the energy has been high level. Starting next week, we’re opening a few more spots.
This program is built for serious development — quality reps, high intensity, uptempo pace, advanced reads, competitive drills, and game-like situations. Players will be grouped by age and compete within their level.
• Ages 9–15
• Limited to 20 athletes
• Utilizing all 6 goals at Frank Brown

There will be no clinic tomorrow due to Rec League basketball using the facility.
We will resume our normal schedule next week.
If you paid for the full month, your sessions will roll over, so no need to register again until after March 14.

Coach John Thomas
Back in 2024, I had the opportunity to reconnect with my former teammate and good friend Sam Jones, now a Nike Academy Director. We both retired from the game and are now focused on giving back to the youth by teaching what we learned as professionals.
He invited me to coach at his Nike Camp in Fort Collins, where I also had the chance to meet and learn from Lethal Shooter, former pro and current NBA trainer. That experience opened my eyes to the true Nike camp standard.
Now we’re bringing that same Nike atmosphere to Auburn, AL, May 26th–29th for my first Nike Camp as Director. I’m building a strong coaching staff to give our kids a first-class experience.

Spotlight on Cam Lipscomb for winning the Big 3 Knockout Championship against Parker. These are two of the best 6th graders in our area, and they competed at a high level from start to finish. That’s what it’s about iron sharpening iron.

This is a fast-paced, up-tempo training session designed to help players:
• Train at a high level
• Learn how to play when tired
• Stay productive and locked in during game-speed reps

We’re excited to announce Coach Anthony Edwards, an Alabama native and AHSAA Hall of Fame Class of 2026 inductee, as Coach #1 for our first-ever Nike Basketball Camp in Auburn.
Coach Edwards is one of the most respected coaches in the state, finishing his career with 500+ wins, multiple Coach of the Year honors, and a legacy built on discipline, leadership, and developing young people the right way.
He was also one of the best basketball players to come out of Beauregard, which makes this moment even more special for our local community. Growing up around Beauregard basketball, I had the chance to watch him play and compete, and he was one of those players I looked up to and was inspired by. Having him now pour back into the next generation is full circle.
Having a coach of this caliber involved sets the standard for what this camp represents excellence, character, and opportunity.
We’re proud to bring this level of leadership to Auburn.

This all came full circle for me.
My first Nike Camp coaching experience was in Fort Collins, Colorado, run by my guy Sam Jones and Lethal Shooter. Sam and I played together in Holland back in 2004, and we’ve stayed connected ever since.
Fast forward to today I’m now a Nike Basketball Camp Director, and I’m bringing that same energy, network, and elite experience to the youth in Auburn and surrounding areas.

After the incredible success of our last two Shoot For The Stars Basketball Camps, I’m beyond excited and honored to officially announce that I have joined the Nike Team as a Camp Director.
This summer, we will be bringing the FIRST-EVER Nike Basketball Camp to Auburn, hosted at our brand-new, state-of-the-art facility at Lake Wilmore Community Center.
This is BIG.
This is SPECIAL.
And most importantly—this is for the KIDS.

I couldn’t have asked for a better way to close out the year than having the legend Coach William Williams come speak to our campers as we Finished Strong.
Coach Williams taught me the game and how to be successful, and it was truly a blessing to have him pour into our kids today. They listened, learned, and took so much from his message.

We were blessed to have Pastor Coach Jeremy Napier, team chaplain and character coach for the Auburn Tigers men’s basketball, speak to our campers today. He was joined by Emeka Opurum, one of Auburn’s top players.
They shared a powerful message using Moses and the staff, reminding our kids that success isn’t about being the biggest or most talented it’s about faith, consistency, and using the fundamentals you already have.
